Community Service

The Orange County Chapter has worked to support programs throughout the Orange County community. Service programs include: food drives for homeless and child abuse centers; a letter writing campaign and “care packages” sent to our Armed Forces stationed in Iraq; a voter registration drive conducted by our Group 5 teens to increase voter participation in the Presidential Election; annual participation in the Orange County March of Dimes walk and fundraising campaign; and a chapter-wide shoe drive to benefit the Soles 4 Souls charity with the collection of more than 1,600 pairs of gently used shoes that were donated to families in Kenya and Tokyo.

Additionally, we donated $2,000 in 2016 to benefit the University of California, Irvine Black Alumni Association Student Book Scholarships.  These scholarships are awarded to students, who are in the process of attaining their college degrees, and who have expressed financial support to purchase their books and supplies. Through the fundraising efforts of Jack and Jill of Orange County, four students were able to receive $500.00 each to pay for their books and supplies. The members of Jack and Jill Orange County are honored to be able to support such a worthy cause in support of our African-American young adults committed to completing coursework towards their college degrees.
